What happens if a band connection has been badly carried out ? 

If two band elements are badly connected, and if a space of, say, 3 to 100 mm appears, then water can infiltrate. But, the water must appear exactly at this weak point. The BFL-Mastix system has the advantage that infiltrating water in the work joint cannot travel along the bands. The defective joint is therefore only a minor risk. A short visual control of the bands before the next concreting is recommended to eliminate any possible imperfection. The repair can be easily done with the help of a propane gas flame.
